About the Hosts
Hosting CHRO 2026 in Vietnam is not merely symbolic — it is a deliberate and meaningful decision.
Vietnam, like many countries in Asia, continues to face a very high burden of Helicobacter pylori infection, with prevalence estimates exceeding 70% in the adult population, alongside a significant incidence of gastric cancer and growing challenges related to antimicrobial resistance. In addition, Campylobacter is a major cause of diarrheal diseases, contributing substantially to gastrointestinal morbidity and posing ongoing challenges for public health and food safety. These conditions not only affect clinical outcomes but also place long-term pressure on public health systems and food safety.
At the same time, Vietnam is rapidly emerging as a dynamic center for biomedical research, a hub for clinical and translational innovation, and a bridge connecting global scientific advances with local and regional public health needs. A new generation of Vietnamese scientists, clinicians, veterinarians, and public health professionals is increasingly engaged in global research networks and eager to contribute meaningful, locally relevant solutions.
By bringing CHRO 2026 to Vietnam, the hosts aim to elevate awareness and scientific understanding of H. pylori, Campylobacter, and related microorganisms, particularly among early-career researchers, young clinicians, veterinarians, and the wider scientific community, while also contributing to public education and long-term health literacy.
Importantly, CHRO 2026 is organized as a fully non-profit scientific conference. All efforts and resources are dedicated solely to advancing science, education, and collaboration — without commercial objectives. The conference seeks to create an open and inclusive platform for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and mentorship.
By hosting CHRO in Vietnam, we affirm a critical truth:
the future of genomics, microbiology, and precision medicine will be shaped not only in high-income laboratories, but also in regions where disease burden is greatest and where scientific impact can be most transformative.
